Ibiza’s newest luxury hotels, Mondrian and Hyde, are poised to become culinary hotspots with the introduction of the “Best of the Best Culinary Series.” This prestigious series, featuring top chefs from the acclaimed “50 Best” rankings, will present unique Latin American and Asian set menus at Cala Llonga’s premier dining venues, Niko and Cuyo.
A first for Ibiza, this series marks a significant moment for the island’s culinary and cultural scene. Spearheaded by the Ennismore group, which unveiled Mondrian and Hyde hotels earlier this year, the series will be hosted at the newly opened Japanese restaurant Niko and the Mexican restaurant Cuyo.
The series commences at Niko, Cala Llonga’s debut Japanese kitchen, on Friday, June 21st. The opening event features the distinguished Chef Pam Pichaya Soontornyanakij, who was named Asia’s Best Female Chef 2024. She holds the distinction of being the youngest female chef to receive both a Michelin Star and the “Opening of the Year” award from the Michelin Guide simultaneously, and is also the youngest Thai chef to be honoured as Asia’s Best Female Chef by the 50 Best organisation.
Chef Pam’s restaurant, Potong, is celebrated for its 20-course Thai-Chinese tasting menu, securing the 17th spot on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 ranking and the 57th spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 list. Her collaboration with Niko on June 21st promises an exclusive dining event, introducing her Michelin-starred menu to Ibiza for the first time.
Reflecting on this collaboration, Chef Pam stated, “I’m so thrilled to bring Thai flavours to Cala Llonga’s first Japanese restaurant! It is an exciting culinary journey to blend my Thai-Chinese roots with Ibiza’s vibrant culinary landscape, creating an unparalleled dining experience.”
From June to September, two acclaimed chefs from the “50 Best” rankings will visit Ibiza each month to showcase their culinary expertise at Niko and Cuyo. This series will offer guests and locals an opportunity to experience unforgettable, synergistic meals crafted by these talented chefs.
