Flexjet, the leader in private aviation, is embarking on a significant expansion of its European presence with the unveiling of an exclusive luxury terminal at Farnborough Airport. Scheduled to open in early 2026, the terminal will stand as one of the largest dedicated facilities of its kind globally, marking a pivotal moment for the company as it continues to redefine the private aviation experience.

The new terminal will be a standalone, ramp-side structure, serving as a seamless bridge between the luxury of Flexjet’s exclusive air travel offerings and the ground experience. Designed by Carver Hain Art + Design, in partnership with Design-by-Five, the facility promises to offer a space that harmonises sophisticated design with personalised hospitality, creating a unique environment for Flexjet’s passengers. Every aspect of the terminal, from the architecture to the service, is intended to elevate the overall journey, ensuring that the luxury begins the moment clients arrive on the tarmac.

Flexjet’s ambitious project underscores its unwavering commitment to providing elevated experiences for its passengers. With construction already underway, the terminal will be situated at Europe’s leading hub for premium air travel, reinforcing the company’s position as a frontrunner in the luxury aviation sector.

“This is a first for private aviation in Europe, and we look forward to opening this truly exceptional space for our aircraft Owners and their guests, extending our unrivalled ethos for personalised luxury into their on-the-ground experience. Fusing stunning, contemporary design with warm hospitality and a welcoming environment, it will be a space for them to call home each time they fly with us to and from Farnborough Airport – our premier airport hub in Europe. This development demonstrates the scope and scale of our international ambition and follows the exponential growth we have already achieved since we launched in Europe in 2019.”

Kenn Ricci, Chairman of Flexjet

The new terminal will span 2,098 square metres, offering more than just a luxury lounge for passengers. It will also house Flexjet’s Tactical Control Centre, operations teams, and a state-of-the-art Red Label Training Academy facility for cabin servers. These additions reflect the company’s ongoing investment in both customer service and operational excellence. The terminal’s design is focused on creating a dynamic and productive environment for both passengers and staff, with flexible meeting spaces and a range of amenities that reflect Flexjet’s exceptional standards.

Inside, the terminal will offer a range of luxurious spaces tailored to the needs of Flexjet’s elite clientele. The ground floor will feature an elegant entrance lounge, a concierge desk, and a central walkway leading to the Owners’ bar and lounge, which will serve as the heart of the terminal. A stunning light sculpture by David Spriggs will provide a striking visual focal point, while the lounge itself will feature a versatile meeting space, a sophisticated dining area, and a formal bar, all overlooking breathtaking views of the airfield.

The terminal’s design is as much about functionality as it is about aesthetics. One wing will house a unique mock fuselage lounge, while the other will offer an in-flight training studio and dynamic collaboration spaces for Flexjet’s teams. The upper floor will be home to the flight operations ‘oculus’, a centrepiece surrounded by a state-of-the-art conference room, intimate meeting spaces, and luxurious lounges for pilots and staff. These areas will facilitate both business and leisure, ensuring that Flexjet’s passengers enjoy an experience that is as tailored and exclusive on the ground as it is in the air.

As part of Flexjet’s commitment to sustainability, the new terminal will incorporate a number of environmentally conscious features. 138 solar panels will be installed, generating around 37,848 kWh per year, which is expected to offset 4,773 kg of CO2 annually. Rainwater collection systems will ensure efficient use of resources, and the inclusion of four electric vehicle (EV) chargers will further support the company’s dedication to clean energy solutions.

“Our design collaborations with Flexjet have been hugely successful and the new dedicated luxury terminal at Farnborough Airport will showcase the same enviable high standard that Flexjet’s passengers expect. Our design flowed naturally from Flexjet’s commitment to thoughtful innovation. This design truly represents the needs and preferences of Flexjet aircraft Owners and the company’s determination to pursue excellence in everything it does. Our collaboration has made for a perfect partnership.”

The development at Farnborough is just one part of Flexjet’s broader strategy to enhance its infrastructure and service offerings. The company has recently expanded its presence in London with a new, larger Flexjet House in Mayfair, which serves as an exclusive sales and experience centre for aircraft owners. Additionally, recent partnerships with luxury brands such as Ferretti Group and The Emory have further solidified Flexjet’s status as a leader in the private aviation market.

This new terminal is set to raise the bar for private aviation in Europe, underscoring Flexjet’s global ambitions and its dedication to providing a truly exceptional service for its discerning clientele. With this innovative development, the company is poised to continue its growth and transformation in the luxury travel sector.
