The aviation industry witnessed a significant development as Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. officially unveiled its redesigned London Sales and Design Center. The Mayfair facility, which first opened its doors in 2013, has undergone a comprehensive transformation to enhance the customer experience for those seeking to personalise their business aircraft.

Situated in one of London’s most exclusive districts, the 5,500sqft showroom provides a sophisticated environment where clients can work directly with Gulfstream’s London-based sales executives and interior design specialists. The facility represents the latest evolution in the company’s approach to aircraft customisation.

Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, emphasised the significance of the redesigned space: “Delivering an unparalleled experience for our customers is what defines the Gulfstream difference and something we are continuously investing in.”

Immersive design experience

The renovated London facility features full-size cabin mock-ups that allow clients to physically experience the aircraft environments before making purchasing decisions. Visitors can explore a complete Gulfstream G400 cabin mock-up alongside a combined Gulfstream G700 and G800 cabin mock-up.

These tangible representations provide prospective owners with the opportunity to assess spatial dimensions and aesthetic possibilities within an authentic context. Additionally, the showroom displays the award-winning Gulfstream G500 and G600 customisable seat collections, enabling clients to evaluate the comfort and functionality of various seating options, flooring materials, and interior finishes without leaving central London.

The attention to detail extends throughout the facility, where the design showroom houses an extensive selection of finishes, veneers, floor coverings, leathers, textiles, and other interior outfitting materials. This comprehensive collection allows clients to visualise and select from numerous options under the guidance of Gulfstream’s specialist interior design team.

Advanced visualisation technology

Beyond physical samples and mock-ups, the London Sales and Design Center incorporates state-of-the-art technology to enhance the customisation process. The facility features 3D Cabin Creator software and exterior paint visualisation technology displayed on a large-scale powerwall.

These digital tools enable clients to explore the multitude of flexible cabin configurations and customisation services available. The technology provides immediate visual feedback as decisions are made, allowing for a more interactive and informed selection process. This marriage of physical examples and digital capabilities creates a comprehensive environment for making sophisticated design choices.

The implementation of such technology reflects the broader industry trend toward digital integration in luxury purchasing experiences. By offering both tangible and virtual elements, Gulfstream has created a facility that caters to various decision-making styles while maintaining the premium quality associated with the brand.

Heritage of innovation

The redesigned London showroom builds upon Gulfstream’s long history of innovation in business aviation. The company pioneered purpose-built business aircraft with the Gulfstream I, which first took flight in 1958. This groundbreaking development was driven by the recognition that dedicated aviation solutions could significantly enhance business operations and efficiency.

Today, Gulfstream has more than 3,300 aircraft operating worldwide, serving diverse needs across the global business landscape. The company, together with parent organisation General Dynamics, maintains a strong commitment to research and development, consistently investing in new aircraft designs, technologies, and services.

The current Gulfstream fleet encompasses a range of aircraft designed to meet various operational requirements. This includes the super-midsize Gulfstream G280 and a next-generation family featuring the category-leading Gulfstream G400, the award-winning G500 and G600 models, the ultralarge-cabin G700, and the ultralong-range G800. This diverse portfolio ensures the company can offer appropriate solutions for virtually any mission profile or requirement.

Each aircraft benefits from the worldwide Gulfstream Customer Support network, providing owners with comprehensive service regardless of their global location. This infrastructure forms an essential component of the ownership experience, ensuring reliability and performance throughout the operational life of each aircraft.
