This strategic appointment marks the succession of Peter Kern, who has adeptly led the company as CEO since 2020. Upon the conclusion of his tenure as CEO, Kern is set to continue his influential work within the company as Vice Chairman and a pivotal member of the Board of Directors. This transition underscores the company’s commitment to continuity and strategic leadership, with Gorin also being elected to join the Board of Directors.
Ariane Gorin has been a distinguished figure within Expedia Group since 2013, demonstrating remarkable leadership across various executive roles. Her tenure as President of Expedia for Business is notably marked by her achievements in driving significant B2B revenue growth—33% in 2023 compared to the previous year. Gorin’s leadership extended over the company’s global supply partner group, advertising business, and B2B partner network, significantly enhancing Expedia’s technological offerings to major global brands.
Barry Diller, Chairman and Senior Executive of Expedia Group, lauded Gorin’s decade-long contribution to the company, emphasising the board’s preference for an internal candidate to lead the company forward. After an exhaustive search, Gorin was identified as the ideal candidate due to her exceptional leadership qualities and her track record of delivering outstanding results.
