The world’s fastest front-engine convertible has taken on a new character, turning high-performance engineering into something closer to coastal art. Created by the personalisation specialists at Q by Aston Martin, the Vanquish Volante Wave Edition draws inspiration from the waters around Collier County, capturing the movement and tones of the Everglades in a car that combines raw power with carefully crafted detail.

Commissioned by Aston Martin Naples, the car shows what can happen when local inspiration meets world-class engineering. It made its debut at one of the world’s most prominent charity events, where it was auctioned to support education programmes for disadvantaged children in Collier County. Since 2001, the Naples Winter Wine Festival has raised more than £336 million for this cause.

Inspired by Florida’s coastline

The exterior wears Q Iridescent Sapphire paint, designed to echo the shifting blues and greens of southern Florida’s waters. Paired with gloss black tinted carbon fibre elements, the finish creates a sense of movement across the bodywork while keeping the car’s lines clean and balanced.

A Club Sport White livery flows across the carbon fibre surfaces, designed to resemble waves breaking along the shoreline. Wave-inspired pinstripes appear across the bonnet’s Formula 1-derived louvres, side panels and rear section, while red brake callipers nod to the navigation buoys marking Florida’s coastal waters. Gloss black carbon fibre side panels carry a white V12 logo, tying the whole look together.

Inside, Glacier White leather contrasts with gloss black carbon fibre detailing, creating a bright, open feel within the cockpit. Pale blue stitching forms a custom wave pattern across the seats, embroidered into the headrests and engraved onto the sill plaques.

Aston Martin Wings stitching appears on the shoulder supports, while the rear carbon fibre crossbrace repeats the Club Sport White pinstripe seen outside. A red anodised start/stop button adds another coastal reference, echoing the buoy-inspired accents on the exterior.

Performance Unlocked

Beneath the bespoke design sits Aston Martin’s flagship performance package. The Vanquish Volante is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 producing 835PS and 1,000Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 214mph.

The convertible roof opens in 14 seconds and closes in 16 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to 31mph, making open-air driving effortless whether cruising along the coast or heading inland.

Driving change

Along with its sleek design and performance, the Wave Edition also carries a wider purpose. All proceeds from the Naples Winter Wine Festival auction support the Naples Children & Education Foundation, which funds programmes aimed at improving education and opportunities for disadvantaged children across Collier County.

“Vanquish Volante Wave Edition is a sculpture in motion, a car that embodies the beauty and dynamism of water while delivering the pulse-quickening performance that defines Aston Martin. This one-off commission captures the spirit of Florida’s coastline and channels it through the artistry and craftsmanship of Q by Aston Martin.” Vittorio Gabba, Commercial Head of Q Operations, Aston Martin

The festival’s auction format has consistently generated major support for local initiatives, and this one-off Vanquish Volante adds another unique highlight to the annual event. The project goes beyond a traditional car commission. When the car found its new owner at the end of January, it will also help support educational opportunities for children across southern Florida.
