The McLaren Formula 1 Team has unveiled a unique, Ayrton Senna-inspired livery for its cars at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix. In partnership with Senna Brand and McLaren Racing’s Official Primary Partner, OKX, the “McLaren SENNA presented by OKX” campaign honours Senna’s remarkable legacy. This special livery, featuring vibrant yellow, green, and blue colours inspired by his iconic helmet, will adorn the MCL38 throughout the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
Ayrton Senna remains McLaren’s most successful driver, having raced for the team from 1988 to 1993. During this period, he secured 35 of his 41 Grand Prix victories, three Drivers’ Championships, and four Constructors’ Championships. Senna’s six wins at Monaco, including five consecutive victories from 1989 to 1993, earned him the title “King of Monaco.” The Circuit de Monaco thus serves as a fitting venue for McLaren to celebrate his legacy.
“Our collaboration on the Senna livery at the Monaco Grand Prix is more than just a tribute; it’s a celebration of Ayrton Senna’s unmatched legacy and his profound impact on the racing world and McLaren itself. Senna inspired a generation and it’s our intention at OKX to help be the bridge between the younger generation and his legacy. That is why we wanted to be a part of this initiative, not just to remember a racing legend but as a living homage that resonates with fans and participants alike, ensuring that Senna’s legacy continues to influence the world of Formula 1 and beyond.”

McLaren Automotive has also paid tribute to Senna with the introduction of a one-off McLaren Senna road car, named Senna Sempre. This bespoke vehicle, created and hand-painted by McLaren Special Operations, mirrors the Formula 1 livery with design elements inspired by Senna’s helmet. The car’s livery incorporates yellow, green, and blue colours, alongside dot matrix portraits of Ayrton Senna and additional Senna references.
Throughout the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, the McLaren team will wear Senna-inspired attire, with drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri donning bespoke overalls. Fans can also participate in the celebration by purchasing merchandise from the Senna x Monaco collection, available at the McLaren Store. This range features items inspired by the colours of Senna and the McLaren team livery from his era.
“It’s an honour to recognise Ayrton through these liveries in collaboration with both McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate his life and legacy through his iconic colours on both cars. McLaren meant a lot to him, and together they achieved a lot of success, much of which he is still remembered for today by so many. It will be special to see it race the streets of Monaco, a circuit which gave him so much joy and many triumphs.”
