Celebrating over a century of distinguished Italian automotive craftsmanship, Bertone ushers in a new era with the introduction of its limited-edition hypercar, the GB110. This milestone marks the 110th anniversary of Bertone, a brand synonymous with iconic sports car design and engineering excellence since its inception in 1912.

Under the stewardship of Mauro and Jean-Franck Ricci, Bertone is poised to redefine luxury and performance in the ultra high-end sports car segment. The Ricci brothers bring a wealth of experience, with 38 years in engineering and automotive consultancy, blending the timeless design heritage of Bertone with cutting-edge automotive technology.

The GB110 stands as a testament to Bertone’s enduring legacy and innovative spirit. This hypercar is not just a tribute to the brand’s illustrious past but a bold statement for the future. It is engineered for high performance and designed with a unique aesthetic that echoes the legendary Bertone designs from the 1950s and 1970s. With an impressive 1100 hp and 1100 Nm of torque, the GB110 promises to be a masterpiece of automotive engineering. Only 33 units of this exclusive model will be produced, making it a coveted addition for connoisseurs of high-performance luxury vehicles.

Jean-Franck Ricci, CEO of Bertone, emphasises the GB110’s exceptional power and everyday usability. “The GB110 is an immensely powerful car,” he states. “We aim for strong acceleration and low weight to maximise driving pleasure. At the same time, it’s designed for everyday use, built with ergonomics and comfort in mind.”

Bertone’s storied history is integral to its identity. Founded by Giovanni Bertone and later led by his son Giuseppe “Nuccio” Bertone, the company has shaped some of the most celebrated sports cars, including the Lamborghini Countach, Alfa Romeo Montreal, and Lamborghini Miura. This legacy of innovation and excellence continues with the GB110.

Revived by Mauro and Jean-Franck Ricci in 2020, Bertone is once again at the forefront of automotive design and engineering. The GB110 exemplifies this revival, merging Italian elegance with state-of-the-art performance. Notably, it is the first high-performance car to use fuel derived from plastic waste, a groundbreaking development in partnership with Select Fuel.

Jean-Franck Ricci highlights the significance of this innovation. “We believe that de-pollution requires different solutions with combinations of technologies. Plastic waste needs to be treated as a valuable resource. Through our partnership with Select Fuel, we take what was once waste and convert it back into its original form.”

The GB110’s design, led by Project & Design Manager Giovanni Sapio, is a contemporary interpretation of Bertone’s DNA, blending soft, rounded lines with sharp edges. It draws inspiration from classics like the Alfa BAT series and the Stratos Zero, featuring distinctive elements such as the apex claw on the rear wheel arch and vertically opening glass doors.

Sapio describes the GB110 as “quintessentially Italian, both outside and inside. It has Italian class and style, built to excite its owner and ignite the passion of sports car aficionados. It’s practical, comfortable, and easy to manage, without exasperating its sportiness.”

Technically, the GB110 is a marvel. With a maximum power output of 1100 hp and a top speed exceeding 380 km/h, it offers unparalleled performance. The vehicle boasts a 0-100 km/h time of 2.79 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 6.79 seconds, and 0-300 km/h in 14 seconds. The all-wheel-drive hypercar features a 7-speed gearbox, forged wheels, and a chassis based on components from a renowned German manufacturer.

Despite its extraordinary performance, the GB110 complies with the latest Euro 6 regulations, showcasing Bertone’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Its advanced suspension system, featuring independent double wishbones, coil springs, and anti-roll bars with four-way dampening adjustment, ensures a customisable driving experience for any situation.

As Bertone celebrates its 110th anniversary, the GB110 is a fitting tribute to its legacy and a bold step into the future. This limited-edition hypercar embodies the perfect blend of Italian elegance, high performance, and environmental consciousness, heralding a new chapter in the storied history of one of Italy’s most revered automotive brands.
