Trinh Tu Appointed Chief Executive of Ipsos UK & Ireland

Ipsos has named Trinh Tu as Chief Executive Officer of its UK and Ireland business. The role goes to a leader who joined the company as a researcher more than 30 years ago. She succeeds Kelly Beaver, now Chief Executive of the global group, and will report directly to her as a member of the Executive Management Committee. With board experience as Vice Chair of UK for UNHCR and a record of commercial growth in public affairs, Tu arrives as second quarter revenue climbs and the Horizons strategic plan gathers pace

Ipsos has appointed Trinh Tu as Chief Executive Officer of its UK and Ireland business, a decision announced from Paris on 7 September 2026. She succeeds Kelly Beaver, who now leads the group as Chief Executive, and will report directly to her. Tu will also take a seat on the Executive Management Committee.

The appointment completes a leadership change that began over the summer. Beaver was confirmed as Chief Executive of Ipsos on 31 July 2026, following a unanimous decision by the board at its meeting the previous day, and her move to the top of the group opened the position Tu now holds.

For the research group, the choice places its British and Irish operation under a leader who has spent her entire career within the company. It also comes during a period of improving trading, with second quarter figures confirming a return to organic growth.

A career built within the company

Trinh has more than 30 years’ experience building and leading businesses at Ipsos, having started out as a researcher. Her most recent position was Managing Director of Ipsos Public Affairs, alongside membership of the UK Management Board. Earlier roles included Head of Business Growth for Public Affairs and Head of Employment, Welfare and Skills.

“Having spent my career at Ipsos, it is a huge honour to be asked to lead our UK & Ireland business. I know the talent, expertise and commitment of our people, and I am enormously proud of what our teams achieve for our wide spectrum of clients. I look forward to building on our momentum and working together to deliver Horizons and the next phase of our growth.”

Across these positions, she has delivered strong commercial growth and developed new services for clients. She has also led teams through significant market, organisational and technological change, experience that carries weight as the group invests in AI-enabled solutions under its Horizons plan.

Her governance credentials reach outside the organisation. She is Vice Chair of UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and chairs its Remuneration Committee, giving her board-level experience at a major international body.

Continuity at the top of the group

Beaver’s own background explains much of the logic behind the appointment. Before becoming group Chief Executive, she led the UK and Ireland business, so Tu will report to a leader who ran the same operation only weeks earlier. The arrangement gives the new chief executive a direct line to someone with detailed knowledge of the market and its clients.

“Trinh brings an exceptional combination of commercial leadership, client focus and deep knowledge of Ipsos. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated her ability to grow businesses, develop innovative services and lead with clarity. I am confident that, under her leadership, our UK and Ireland business will continue to grow and deliver outstanding value for all our clients.”

A return to growth

Ipsos generated revenue of €615.2 million in the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 4.9%. Organic growth reached 3.0% over the period, a clear recovery from the 1.4% decline recorded in the first quarter.

The group has identified Public Affairs and the United Kingdom among the areas where activity improved during the first half of the year. For a chief executive who spent her recent years leading the public affairs practice, that combination provides a firm base on which to plan.

Scale and global reach

Founded in France in 1975, Ipsos is one of the largest market research and polling companies globally. It operates in 90 markets, employs nearly 20,000 people and works with 5,000 clients through 75 business solutions. These are built on primary data gathered through surveys, social media monitoring and qualitative or observational techniques.

The company has been listed on Euronext Paris since 1 July 1999 and forms part of the SBF 120 and Mid-60 indices. Its “Game Changers” tagline sums up the aim of helping clients navigate a rapidly changing world with confidence, a remit the UK and Ireland business carries across its wide client base.

The road ahead under Horizons

Horizons, the strategic plan presented at the group’s Investor Day in January 2026, will shape the early years of Trinh’s tenure. Beaver gave investors an update on the plan in September 2026, placing the emphasis firmly on execution. Tu’s own remarks name the programme as the foundation for the business’s next phase of growth.

The appointment also puts women in two of the most senior positions within the group, with Beaver leading Ipsos globally and Trinh heading its British and Irish operations. After three decades inside the organisation, the new chief executive takes charge with a detailed understanding of both its people and the plan now guiding its future.
