Marcin Raczek is a designer and entrepreneur who founded PENT. to reimagine fitness equipment as objects of design. First conceived in 2012 and formally established in 2016, after years of outfitting professional gyms, he recognised that discerning clients sought more than functional tools, they wanted pieces that could inhabit their private spaces with the same refinement as furniture or art.

PENT. was born from this idea, blending professional-grade performance with artisanal craftsmanship. From the outset, Marcin anchored production in Poland, assembling a team of skilled artisans to craft every piece in-house. Using solid American walnut, stainless steel, and fine Italian and Portuguese leathers, they create equipment that is precise, tactile, and lasting. This commitment to process and material integrity has shaped a collection that extends from free weights to bespoke installations, each designed to be lived with and displayed.

Under Marcin’s direction, PENT. has grown into a global brand featured in leading hotels, private residences, and on superyachts. In 2025, he expanded his vision with PENT. Audio, a sculptural loudspeaker collection built with the same devotion to form and craftsmanship. With further plans for furnishings that complement wellness environments, he continues to refine a design language that views wellness not as utility, but as a way of life.

You established PENT. formally in 2016 after recognising that clients sought fitness equipment with the refinement of fine furniture, a vision that has since positioned the brand in leading hotels, private residences, and superyachts worldwide. What pivotal insight allowed you to see the opportunity to transform fitness equipment into functional art, and how did you successfully build a business model around this elevated approach to wellness?

“The idea for PENT. grew out of my first company, ATEPAA, where we produced custom luxury furniture for hotels, offices, sports facilities, and private residences. Through that work, I began to notice that even in the most refined five-star hotels, fitness spaces felt purely functional, visually detached from the architecture and atmosphere around them. Wellness objects were not designed to belong within beautiful, intentional environments, and as a result, they were often removed from daily life rather than integrated into it.

“At the same time, my own relationship with movement has always been woven into my day through small moments of focus, presence, and ritual. I realized that this sense of ritual was missing from the broader culture of fitness, and that equipment needed to earn the same presence as art or furniture in order to be used more naturally and more often. That insight shaped PENT. from the beginning, guiding a model rooted in intention, craftsmanship, and emotional connection rather than volume or speed.”

PENT. has grown from a fitness equipment atelier into a complete wellness brand that includes audio and forthcoming furnishings, all handcrafted in your Poland-based workshops using materials like solid American walnut and stainless steel. What strategies have allowed you to maintain outstanding artisanal quality whilst expanding your global presence across prestigious venues?

“Growth at PENT. has never been about producing more, but about quality over quantity. Every piece is crafted entirely in our Polish workshops, and by maintaining limited quantities, rigorous standards, and personal oversight, we ensure that whether a piece is destined for a private home, a hotel, or a superyacht, it is crafted with the same depth of care and material integrity.

“That discipline has allowed us to thoughtfully expand wellness beyond movement alone, shaping a multi-sensory environment through categories such as audio and Pilates. This continuity allows PENT. to grow globally without ever compromising the values that define the brand.”

The September 2025 launch of PENT. Audio, featuring the GULIA, CHIARA, and AURORA speaker collections, extends your philosophy into multisensory wellness. What exciting possibilities did you see when expanding beyond movement equipment, and how has creating this complete sensory experience enhanced what you offer clients?

“Just as I observed that fitness equipment was treated as purely utilitarian and visually disconnected from its surroundings, I saw the same pattern in sound equipment. Audio products often perform well but rarely integrate thoughtfully into a space. When we began designing PENT. Audio, the intention was not to enter a new category, but to complete the full environment.

“Music can energise or soften a space in the same way movement supports the body, and by designing sound objects with the same material integrity and sculptural presence as our fitness equipment, we redefine how sound lives within a room. The result is a fully immersive wellness experience where movement, atmosphere, and emotion are connected, allowing daily rituals to feel cohesive.”

ROMA, your sculptural cable system, embodies your belief that strength includes ‘balance, focus, and presence’ beyond physical power. How have you designed equipment that transforms training into an inspiring daily ritual, and what feedback from clients confirms this approach resonates with those seeking meaningful wellness experiences?

“Clients often tell us that when our equipment became part of their living environment, their training shifted from something to be endured to something they return to, much like a piece of art that continues to draw your eye no matter how many times you pass it.

“ROMA was designed to carry that same power, encouraging awareness and intention through its sculptural form, mirrored surface, and tactile materials, transforming movement into a deliberate, grounded experience, and drawing you back to it again and again.”

Your work centres on three guiding principles: making discipline beautiful, designing for how people feel, and prioritising restoration alongside strength. How have these principles shaped PENT.’s distinctive identity in the luxury wellness sector, and which aspects of implementing this philosophy have proven most rewarding as the brand has evolved?

“These principles guide every decision we make. Making discipline beautiful removes resistance. The most rewarding part has been seeing how these ideas change daily behaviour. Clients tell us they move more frequently, more mindfully, and with greater consistency. That confirms that beauty, emotion, and restoration are not aesthetic choices, but functional ones that shape how wellness is lived.”

PENT. has established a compelling position by treating every piece as bespoke, offering customisation through your interactive 3D configurator and producing equipment in limited quantities. What opportunities has this made-to-order approach created for deeper client relationships, and how does this model reflect the evolving values of those investing in their wellness?

“The made-to-order approach creates a relationship rather than a transaction. Every client collaborates directly with our designers, shaping a piece that reflects their space, lifestyle, and ritual. This process builds trust, dialogue, and long-term connection. It also reflects a broader societal shift in values. People are moving away from instant consumption and toward objects with meaning, permanence, and story.

“Investing in wellness today is not about quantity, but about intention. Our model mirrors that evolution by prioritising quality, customisation, and longevity over speed.”

You’ve described wellness as ‘not a trend, but a philosophy of living’, building PENT. on enduring craftsmanship and material integrity. What principles guide your approach to creating lasting value in the wellness space, and how has your commitment to authenticity strengthened the brand’s reputation as it continues to grow internationally?

“We design pieces meant to live for decades, not seasons. That means choosing materials for their inherent strength, longevity, and beauty rather than for trends. Every decision is guided by whether a piece will still feel relevant, functional, and meaningful twenty years from now. Solid woods, natural leathers, and carefully selected metals are chosen to age with character, developing a patina that reflects use and time rather than wear. This commitment to material integrity and authenticity resonates globally because it is universal.

“True luxury is craftsmanship, and that language translates across cultures. As the brand grows internationally, our refusal to compromise on how things are made and what they are made from has become one of PENT.’s strongest assets.”

PENT. has pioneered an approach where fitness equipment inhabits primary living areas with the same refinement as fine furniture, moving beyond traditional dedicated gym spaces. How has client response evolved as this vision has gained recognition, and what exciting changes have you observed in how people integrate wellness into their homes and lifestyles?

“When we began placing wellness equipment in primary living spaces, whether in homes or aboard yachts, it challenged long-standing conventions. Traditionally, fitness was hidden away below deck or behind closed doors, treated as a necessity rather than an experience. Projects like Dutch Design’s Sea Rover are a clear response to this broader shift in thinking, where wellness is intentionally elevated both physically and philosophically and integrated into the most considered areas of a space.

“What excites me most is seeing wellness become habitual and emotional, woven into how people live, travel, and restore, rather than scheduled as a separate activity, even in the most unexpected environments.”

For entrepreneurs aspiring to enter the luxury wellness space or sectors requiring dedication to craftsmanship and premium materials, what key insights from successfully building PENT. would you share? What advice would you offer those seeking to build a brand where clients need to fundamentally reconsider how they view everyday objects in their lives?

“True luxury is not defined by price, but by care, intention, and craft. When building PENT, I began with my own rituals and the way I wanted to live, because if you want clients to believe in what you create, you must first believe in it yourself.

“Treat every product as something meant to be lived with rather than consumed, and let your values guide every decision. When integrity is visible and felt, people respond instinctively. That emotional trust is what allows clients to reconsider everyday objects and is ultimately how lasting brands are built.”
