Chedi Hospitality has appointed seasoned hotelier Tristan Delmas as General Manager of Chedi Wadi Safar, the ultra-luxury property taking shape within the Wadi Safar destination in Diriyah, minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif and around 15 minutes from central Riyadh. He will oversee every aspect of the pre-opening and operational strategy, shaping the guest experience, the service philosophy and the positioning of a hotel already counted among the Kingdom’s most anticipated openings.

Delmas arrives with more than 15 years of international experience across ultra-luxury hospitality, strategic advisory and hotel operations, built at some of the world’s best-known addresses. His appointment comes as the group introduces its refreshed global identity and brand essence, A Voyage Unbound, with Chedi Wadi Safar set to become the first property in the portfolio to fully express the new direction.

A career shaped at landmark addresses

Most recently Head of Hospitality at Barnes International, Delmas led the development of the group’s hospitality division, building out its signature French Art de Vivre. Earlier, as Hotel Manager, Pre-Opening at One&Only One Za’abeel, he played a central role in launching one of Dubai’s most ambitious destination projects, overseeing operational readiness across its hotel, residences and extensive culinary offering. He also served as Hotel Manager at Burj Al Arab, one of the world’s most recognisable ultra-luxury hotels.

His wider career includes leadership roles at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris and Park Hyatt in Beijing and Washington, D.C., alongside a period with global hospitality advisory HVS and strategic advisory work across hospitality developments in Saudi Arabia, the Maldives, Europe and the wider MENA region. That breadth positions him to lead a project that combines a sensitive cultural setting with the demands of a modern flagship.

Backing for the next chapter of the Chedi brand

The appointment marks a significant step in the group’s growth in Saudi Arabia, with Delmas bringing operational depth to a property that will carry considerable weight in the brand’s global evolution.

“Tristan’s appointment marks an important step as we continue to strengthen Chedi’s presence in Saudi Arabia,” said Karim Bizid, Chief Operating Officer of Chedi Hospitality. “His international experience across some of the world’s most respected luxury hospitality brands, combined with his expertise in complex pre-openings and ultra-luxury operations, makes him exceptionally well positioned to lead Chedi Wadi Safar.”

“As we prepare to introduce the next chapter of the Chedi brand globally, Chedi Wadi Safar is an important expression of that evolution, deeply connected to place, culture and contemporary luxury in a way that feels both timeless and forward-looking. We are confident Tristan will play a defining role in bringing this vision to life,” Bizid added.

A resort rooted in the Diriyah district

Chedi Wadi Safar will sit within the prestigious Wadi Safar masterplan, comprising an intimate collection of approximately 85 Suites and Villas, 20 branded private villas designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, and signature dining and wellness experiences, all set alongside the Greg Norman-designed Wadi Safar Signature Golf Course. The property has been conceived to reflect the brand’s quiet approach to luxury, intuitive service and hospitality rooted in its surroundings.

For Delmas, the appeal of the project lies in its sense of place. “Chedi Wadi Safar is a truly unique opportunity to create a hospitality experience deeply connected to the cultural and historical significance of the destination while delivering the refined, understated luxury that defines the brand,” he commented. “It is a privilege to contribute to the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030 and to the Kingdom’s remarkable transformation. I am honoured to join the project at this pivotal stage and look forward to working alongside the team to bring this vision to life ahead of the hotel’s opening.”

A group with a global portfolio

Chedi Hospitality operates as a full-service hospitality platform, developing and managing hotels, resorts and branded residences under two brands: Chedi, its heritage quiet luxury brand, and Serai, a luxury lifestyle concept built around active pursuit. The group also provides hospitality asset management and development advisory services to owners and investors.

The portfolio spans landmark destinations including Chedi Muscat in Oman, Chedi Andermatt in Switzerland, Chedi Al Bait in the UAE, Chedi Katara in Qatar, Chedi El Gouna in Egypt, Chedi Lustica Bay in Montenegro, Chedi Hegra in AlUla and now Chedi Wadi Safar in Riyadh, together with Chedi Private Residences on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. Under the vision behind A Voyage Unbound, the group approaches each property as a singular expression of place, shaped by local culture, thoughtful design and understated luxury, with a growing pipeline across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
