The Swiss manufacturer has unveiled two fresh interpretations of its Seamaster Aqua Terra line, introducing turquoise dials that capture the essence of tropical waters. Available in both 38mm and 41mm configurations, these timepieces extend the brand’s aquatic collection beyond the steel bracelet variants launched twelve months prior.
These additions showcase how established watch families evolve while maintaining their core identity. The turquoise treatment offers a departure from conventional dive watch aesthetics, yet the fundamental engineering remains uncompromised. Each model retains the collection’s signature durability specifications, ensuring performance matches visual appeal.
Chromatic Character
The highlight of these models is the turquoise varnish dial, accentuated by a black gradient that evokes sunlight filtering through ocean depths. This subtle transition adds visual depth, shifting perspective with every change in angle and offering a dynamic face that transforms throughout the day.
A matte black ceramic bezel, crafted from zirconium dioxide, provides striking contrast against the vibrant dial. Black PVD-coated hour markers and hands ensure clarity, while white Super-LumiNova infill glows blue in low-light conditions. Completing the design, the integrated black structured rubber strap is stitched in turquoise, reflecting the dial’s colour and creating a seamless, cohesive aesthetic across the timepiece.
Designed to Perform
Both models uphold the Aqua Terra’s respected technical foundations. The distinctive wave-edged caseback, screw-in crown, and domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment deliver practical functionality. Water resistance extends to 15 bar, equivalent to 150 metres or 500 feet, making these suitable for serious aquatic activities.
The 41mm variant houses the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8900, providing 60 hours of power reserve. Its smaller 38mm counterpart features Calibre 8800, offering 55 hours of autonomous operation. Both movements withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss and carry METAS certification, ensuring precision and reliability meet contemporary standards.
Classic Craft with Contemporary Edge
The Seamaster collection represents the manufacturer’s longest-running product line, with decades of development behind its current iteration. This heritage provides the foundation for continued innovation, allowing designers to explore new aesthetic directions while maintaining proven mechanical integrity.
The turquoise dial illustrates how traditional dive watch principles can evolve alongside modern tastes. Rather than discarding the collection’s established design language, OMEGA has reinterpreted familiar elements through contemporary colour. The result is a seamless fusion of classic sports watch functionality with fresh visual appeal, creating timepieces that are equally at home in boardrooms as they are on the shoreline. These latest additions prove that serious timekeeping instruments need not sacrifice personality for performance.
