The Maldives has long been a place to escape, unwind, and soak up the sun. Now, Four Seasons Resorts at Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa are making it even more welcoming for families traveling together. With reimagined villas and estates, there’s room for everyone to venture, enjoy time together, and find their own quiet corners, all against the backdrop of turquoise waters and white-sand beaches.
Much of the redesign has been guided by the resorts’ returning guests. Couples who first visited on honeymoon and now return with children and grandchildren have influenced the new accommodations with practical requests that quickly became design features.
Landaa Estate: A Private Island Retreat
The Four-Bedroom Landaa Estate at Landaa Giraavaru is a sunlit, elevated sanctuary set on the southeastern side of the island. As the resort’s largest accommodation, it spans 800 square metres of interior space with an additional 2,000 square metres of outdoor living for up to nine adults, or eight adults and six children.

A sweeping 80-metre stretch of white sand meets the shimmering lagoon, while a 20-metre lap pool with a sunken lounge, cascading waterfall, and wide sundeck invites long, leisurely days. A rooftop terrace provides unobstructed views of the sunset, perfect for cocktails or quiet reflection. Indoor-outdoor living flows seamlessly from the breezy living and dining pavilion to the air-conditioned library and kitchen.

Four pavilions house four bedrooms, including a new king bedroom, while a dedicated kids’ room gives younger guests their own private enclave. There is also a private library and entertainment room which offers the perfect retreat. A dedicated Estate butler ensures every detail, from bespoke dining to curated family adventures, is seamlessly executed.
“With the Landaa Estate, we wanted to complement the nature of the Biosphere Reserve with a haven of contemporary design to create a space that not only offered elevated privacy, comfort and service but that elusive ‘I never want to leave’ feeling. All the amenities of Landaa Giraavaru are just a short walk away, but the Estate is a self-enclosed sanctuary within a sanctuary. It’s a very special place that unites Four Seasons vision of modern luxury with Landaa’s laid-back nature-immersed ethos. I couldn’t be happier with the end result.”

Kuda Estate: Space to Connect
The newly redesigned Three-Bedroom Kuda Estate at Kuda Huraa offers families and groups up to six adults and three children a private oceanfront escape. Interiors span 467 square metres, with 214 square metres of outdoor space, linking three standalone bedroom villas with communal indoor-outdoor areas around a 139-square-metre infinity pool.

Redesigned living and dining spaces maximise light and comfort, with soaring ceilings of more than six metres and a skylight that fills the rooms with golden daylight. Outdoors, a private sea-view gazebo with swing, sunken seating, and an extended dining deck create multiple view points to enjoy the lagoon or sunset.

“The reimagined Kuda Estate raises the bar for luxury at Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa. It’s the perfect fusion of privacy, space, and design – magnificent in scale, yet perfectly in tune with its natural island surrounds and the island’s warm embrace. We’re thrilled to welcome families and groups of friends to experience this one-of-a-kind retreat and create precious new memories in one of the Maldives most iconic resort settings.”
Didier Jardin, General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa

The aesthetic is light and breezy, with crisp whites, vibrant aquamarines, and deep violets that reflect the surrounding ocean and sky. Designer touches, including iconic B&B Italia sofas, complement soft textures, organic lines, and curves that echo the island’s natural contours. A dedicated personal attendant ensures each activity be it sunrise paddleboarding, beach barbecues, or stargazing is perfectly timed and tailored.

Completing the upgrade at Kuda Huraa are the new Beach Villas with Pool. Once intimate bungalows, they now offer larger, brighter spaces for couples, honeymooners, and young families. Interiors measure 70 square metres, with 285 square metres of exterior space. Each villa accommodates three adults or two adults and two children, with redesigned layouts including a window-side daybed, walk-in closet, and outdoor shower garden.
“Kuda Huraa has long been a haven for those seeking an intimate Maldivian home-from-home, but we recognised the limitations of our bungalows in terms of layout, light and space. Our first ever Beach Villas embody the spirit of the island, where care, comfort, and the magic of the Maldives come together in a seamless flow.”
