Powder Byrne has unveiled its summer 2026 programme, drawing on more than four decades of expertise to deliver a collection of experiences that span Swiss alpine retreats, volcanic adventures in Japan, family mountain biking in Arosa, and women’s wellness escapes in the Swiss Alps. With a new loyalty rewards programme now running alongside its long-standing Client for Life promise, the specialist operator is offering a compelling case for why summer deserves just as much attention as the ski season.
The new collection sits under Powder Byrne’s Client for Life programme, a long-standing philosophy that shapes every aspect of how the company operates. Each booking comes with pre-travel concierge, full in-resort support, dedicated Mountain Hosts, children’s programming and on-the-ground assistance, effectively removing the need for guests to coordinate anything themselves.

As temperatures continue to climb across Southern Europe during July and August, a growing number of guests are gravitating towards cooler alpine destinations. Powder Byrne has responded with what it calls the ‘coolcation’, positioning Switzerland’s mountain resorts as genuinely compelling alternatives to coastal or city breaks during the height of summer.
St Moritz, Switzerland
St Moritz is perhaps the most storied of the three Swiss destinations on the programme. Its origins are as a summer resort rather than a winter one, and while the town has since become synonymous with ski-season glamour, its warmest months offer sailing and windsurfing on the glacially cold lakes of the Upper Engadin Valley, and hiking through pine-scented forests to high ridgelines. Sitting at 1,856 metres, temperatures remain reliably mild throughout July and August.

Powder Byrne’s programme here runs from mid July to August, with accommodation based at the Cresta Palace. Prices begin from £3,355 per person for seven nights in a Junior Suite Art Nouveau on a bed and breakfast basis, inclusive of pre-travel concierge and full in-resort services.
Crans-Montana, Switzerland
Crans-Montana sits on a south-facing plateau above the Rhône Valley at 1,500 metres, and its position is its defining characteristic. The resort claims one of the best sunshine records in the Alps, with views that sweep from Mont Blanc in the west to the Matterhorn in the east. It is a resort that does cosmopolitan atmosphere as well as mountain scenery, with boutique shopping, a delectable dining scene and a cultural calendar to match its natural surroundings.

For golfers, the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club course hosts the Omega European Masters and is widely regarded as one of the most visually striking layouts in Switzerland, with fairways set against the Valais Alps and the Plaine Morte glacier rising to nearly 3,000 metres beyond. Powder Byrne has put together a dedicated golf itinerary running in July to August, covering access to the championship course and tuition at the driving range, with four nights at the Crans Ambassador from £2,745 per person in an Alpina Deluxe Room on a bed and breakfast basis. For those staying the full two-week window, the broader programme runs to early August, with hiking, cycling and the full resort on offer.
Arosa, Switzerland
Arosa is set at 1,800 metres at the head of the Schanfigg Valley and the most secluded of the three resorts. It has carried a reputation as an Alpine health resort since 1877, and the air quality and genuine quiet set it apart from more commercially developed destinations. The surrounding Arosa Lenzerheide area offers over 225 kilometres of hiking and mountain biking trails during the summer months, while the valley’s crystal-clear lakes provide natural swimming spots on warmer afternoons.

Powder Byrne offers three distinct programmes here across August. Families can join the Learn Together mountain biking programme, which brings adults and children together under expert instruction across Arosa’s well-maintained trail network. Guests can enjoy seven nights in a two-bedroom apartment at the Valsana Hotel, inclusive of all in-resort services.

There is also a restorative wellness and Pilates retreat, running at the end of June, in collaboration with Byrne Pilates, led by instructor Emma Byrne. The itinerary combines outdoor yoga, run clubs, cold water swims and HIIT sessions with spa treatments and Moving Mountains dinners at the Valsana. For those simply looking for a summer alpine base, the resort programme runs in August with seven nights at the Valsana from £3,485 per person.
Kyushu, Japan
Away from the Alps, Powder Byrne has put together one of its more ambitious summer offerings with a privately guided tour of Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost main island. The itinerary draws on 25 years of experience operating in Japan and focuses on a part of the country that remains largely off the standard tourist circuit. Kyushu sits on a fault line that has produced some of Japan’s most dramatic natural geography, including active volcanic peaks, geothermal onsen towns built around steaming springs, and a coastline shaped by centuries of geological activity. The cultural history runs equally deep, with ancient Shinto shrines and feudal castle towns spread across the island.

Each journey is arranged privately and tailored individually, with expert guides throughout and all road transfers included. The tour is available between April and November, making it one of the more flexible items on the programme and equally suited to autumn travel.
A new loyalty rewards programme
Alongside the summer launches, Powder Byrne has introduced a loyalty rewards programme that provides returning clients with points redeemable against future trip benefits. Eligible rewards include spa treatments, private transfers, additional private guiding days and access to exclusive client trips. The examples cited by the company include a week at Polo Valley and a private jet journey, both reserved for the programme’s most active members.
The points system runs automatically for all Powder Byrne clients and is designed to deepen the relationship over time. It sits naturally alongside the Client for Life philosophy that has shaped the company’s approach since its founding, adding a practical mechanism to what has traditionally been a more intangible promise of long-term service.
