Lamborghini Japan turns 25 this year, and the company is marking it in some style. The country has been one of its most loyal markets for the whole of that run, and this is the thank you.

What they have built is the Revuelto Impavido, a run of 25 cars made for Japan and nowhere else, every one individually numbered. The name means fearless in Italian, and the whole thing takes its inspiration from Bushido, the samurai code of courage, discipline and unwavering determination.

The how belongs to Ad Personam, the in-house team that tailors a Lamborghini to its owner. They have taken the Revuelto, left its V12 hybrid heart exactly where it is, and dressed the bodywork in the details of samurai armour.

Samurai steel

Every Impavido wears a livery inspired by a suit of samurai armour, reimagined through the brand’s own design language. Sharp, sculpted lines flow across the doors and rear bumper to capture the motion of a katana strike, a nod to precision, speed and controlled power. Golden accents run through the bodywork in tribute to the odoshi, the silk cords that once bound armour plates together and proudly signalled a warrior’s rank and clan.

The front end takes its cue from the maedate, the crest mounted on a samurai helmet as a mark of status and identity. Reworked in Sant’Agata, it gives the car a bold and confident presence. Decorative touches on the roof and fenders draw on the kozane, the lacquered plates that made up the armour itself, adding a real sense of structure and craftsmanship that suits the Revuelto perfectly.

Four shades of honour

Buyers get to choose from four finishes, and each one carries a story as well as a name. Two of them shine. Verde Campus takes its cue from Hisui jade, the national stone of Japan and a symbol of life and fertility, while Grigio Artis Lucido captures the polished grey of a katana blade, together with the loyalty, honour and craftsmanship the sword stands for.

The other two go matt. Grigio Crater Matt draws on the black and grey of samurai armour, a colour tied to fearlessness and authority, while Rosso Pyra celebrates Sanada Red, long linked with bravery, strength and discipline. The shiny cars wear Nero Noctis and Bronzo Oreadi accents, and the matt cars answer with Nero Nemesis and Bronzo Serse, the paint, liveries and carbon fibre all finished to match.

Every car sits on Altanero forged rims in shiny black, offered in 21 and 22-inch sizes, finished with bronze brake calipers and matt black tailpipes. The cabin is just as special, pairing Nero Ade leather with Corsa Tex and bronze detailing, then adding bespoke embroidery to the seats, doors and roof, a Samurai logo and a carbon-fibre plate stamped “1 di 25”. Slip inside and there is no mistaking which car this is, or just how rare it is.

Speed and substance

The Impavido is still a Revuelto underneath, and that is the best part. This was Lamborghini’s first V12 High Performance Electrified Vehicle, its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 paired with three electric motors and a transverse eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Together they deliver 1,015 CV, enough to fire the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and on to a top speed beyond 350 km/h.

The engineering underneath is every bit as impressive. There is a multi-technology carbon-fibre monocoque with a front structure in Forged Composites, active aerodynamics with a rear wing that moves through three positions, and CCB Plus carbon-ceramic brakes to match the pace. All-wheel drive and electrified torque vectoring keep everything planted and precise, and a weight-to-power ratio of 1.75 kilograms per CV means there is very little weight to carry.

Rare by Design

Just 25 people will ever own one, all of them in Japan, and that exclusivity is a big part of the appeal. The country has been a passionate supporter of the marque for 25 years and remains one of its most established markets anywhere in Asia Pacific. Paolo Sartori, who leads Lamborghini in Japan, describes the edition as a heartfelt thank you to the customers who made the journey possible.
