Set within a rainforest landscape shaped more than 550 million years ago, The Geo Spa at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi has introduced a new collection of treatments inspired by the island’s extraordinary geological past. Under the direction of Heriberto “Beto” Peña, the refreshed wellness programme draws directly from Langkawi’s limestone formations, indigenous botanicals and natural thermal elements, offering guests an experience that feels deeply connected to the land beneath their feet.

Rather than following conventional spa trends, the programme takes its cues from Langkawi itself. Treatments unfold across six secluded pavilions, each overlooking tranquil ponds and dramatic limestone cliffs, where the pace slows almost instinctively. The result is a wellness offering that feels immersive, intuitive and quietly restorative, shaped as much by the setting as by the therapies themselves.
“Our menu reflects Langkawi as it truly is, a place where earth, forest, water and energy exist in balance. Each treatment draws from that harmony, allowing guests to reconnect with themselves through the natural forces that surround them.”
Heriberto “Beto” Peña, Director of Spa,Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

Langkawi’s story long predates its reputation for white-sand beaches and UNESCO-recognised geopark status. At The Geo Spa, this ancient heritage becomes part of the healing process. Peña describes the approach as experiential rather than prescriptive, designed to invite guests into the rhythm of the island rather than impose a routine upon them.
In the spa, traditional thatched-roof pavilions are nestled among tropical greenery, each with its own private steam room. Between treatments, guests drift between floating relaxation bales, herbal infusions at the Spa Bar, and quiet moments that feel as restorative as the therapies themselves.
Elemental Rituals
The new menu is shaped around four elemental themes: Earth, Forest, Water and Energy. They each reflect a different aspect of Langkawi’s landscape. Earth-based treatments make use of mineral-rich stones and soils through warming wraps and grounding rituals, while forest therapies draw on local botanicals such as ginger flower, pandan and coconut, designed to refresh the senses and restore balance.

Water-inspired experiences are meant to represent the island’s waterfalls and mangroves, with floral baths, steam rituals and mineral infusions that cleanse and recalibrate. The Energy category brings together sound healing, floral blessings and meditative practices, gently aligning body and mind. Facial treatments feature Ayurvedic formulations by Purearth, while massage oils and body products incorporate locally sourced plants, spices and flowers.
Signature Experiences
Three signature rituals sit at the heart of the programme. Pusaka Kasih: Legacy of Love is designed for couples, combining steam, warm herbal oils, sound therapy and a botanical soak, finishing with a floral ceremony rooted in traditional Malay symbolism. Seri Lembut: Graceful Calm offers a deeply restorative experience, blending synchronised massage, herbal compresses and a jasmine and lemongrass-infused steam to ease the nervous system. Kwansha Sculpt Therapy focuses on facial rejuvenation, using marma points, buccal massage and the Kwansha Beauty Coin to lift, tone and refine with precision rather than excess.
Alongside these rituals, The Geo Spa offers a range of contemporary bodywork treatments tailored to modern travel fatigue. Essential Sleep Therapy addresses jet lag and restlessness through a blend of Shiatsu and Swedish massage, while Purifying Restore Massage and Dynamic Stretch Therapy focus on circulation, mobility and release. The Night Spa Experience, reserved for couples, unfolds after dark with private steam rituals, outdoor rainforest treatments and an in-suite bath, capturing the atmosphere of the jungle at its most evocative.
Wellness Across the Day
In addition to the spa, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi extends it’s wellness experiences through a rotating programme of daily activities. They invite guests to engage more deeply, from sound healing sessions under the stars to yoga classes suited to all levels. Breathwork, meditation and tapping therapy are led by in-house practitioners, offering moments of calm woven naturally into the rhythm of each day.

Peña brings more than a decade of global wellness experience to his role, having previously worked at Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo in Costa Rica and trained at traditional healing centres across Thailand, India and Indonesia. His approach is shaped by this cross-cultural perspective, grounded in the belief that nature remains the most powerful source of restoration.
“Trends will always come and go, but true wellbeing begins with our connection to nature. Here in Langkawi, the environment does much of the work for us. The energy of this place creates the ideal conditions to reset, renew and find a sense of inner calm.” Heriberto “Beto” Peña, Director of Spa,Four Seasons Resort Langkawi
