A single object will complete the closing act of this summer’s FIFA tournament, and it has been made entirely by hand. Louis Vuitton confirmed its appointment as Official Supplier and Branded Licensee of the FIFA World Cup 2026, unveiling the bespoke trunk built to hold, carry and present the sport’s most coveted prize. The case will appear on the pitch during the final, the fifth successive World Cup to be crowned by a piece from the house.

Carried onto the field by a Louis Vuitton ambassador alongside a FIFA Legend, the trunk has closed each tournament since 2010 with a moment now as anticipated as the raising of the trophy itself. The house has released a limited-edition collection of three trunks in the same palette and finish. Together they extend a relationship with FIFA that has run for sixteen years and across four continents.
“The Official Trophy is the most coveted prize in world football, and it is only fitting that it is carried in a Louis Vuitton trunk.”
Romy Gai, Chief Business Officer, FIFA
Hand crafted in Asnières
The trophy trunk was created by Louis Vuitton’s artisans in the historic workshops at Asnières-sur-Seine, on the north-western edge of Paris, where the house has shaped its rarest commissions since the nineteenth century. It wears the Monogram canvas, with two front panels carrying a hand-painted golden “V” for victory and for Vuitton, drawn in the warm tones of the trophy it holds.
Leather trim known as lozines frames the case, gold-plated brass corner protectors catch the light, and the lock and clasps follow patterns the house has used since the 1860s. Lift the lid and the interior is lined in soft beige leather, finished with a patch bearing the partnership logo of Louis Vuitton and FIFA. Every element has been considered against the prize it was made to carry.
Partners Since 2010
Five tournaments now sit within the collaboration, including South Africa in 2010, Brazil in 2014, Russia in 2018, Qatar in 2022 and North America in 2026. A trunk has been carried onto the pitch at each one, creating some of the most iconic moments between a luxury house and international sport.
“At its heart stands the world’s most coveted trophy, a symbol of dedication, collective ambition, and the ultimate celebration of victory. The Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk continues this legacy, accompanying the iconic moment when football’s greatest achievement is celebrated and history is made.”
Pietro Beccari, CEO & Chairman, Louis Vuitton
The trunk belongs to a sporting record that reaches back to the America’s Cup in 1983 and now takes in Formula 1, the Ballon d’Or, the Australian Open, Roland Garros, the NBA, the Davis Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympics. The figures at the heart of the FIFA agreement were warm on its meaning.
The trunks are coming home
Beyond the piece seen at the final, the house has drawn a trio of trunks from the same design, each dressed in Monogram canvas and marked with the hand-painted trophy and its golden “V”. The Coffret 8 Montres cradles up to eight watches on removable cushions, while the Cotteville 16 Montres is given wholly to watchmaking, a briefcase silhouette for the collector who travels with a wardrobe of timepieces.
The third, the Malle Courrier Lozine 110, reworks the house’s courier trunk for the occasion, its interior fitted for clothing and textiles. Each of the three can be finished with the owner’s initials, a form of personalisation the house has long held dear. Offered under official FIFA licence, they are the pieces one can actually own from a summer defined by a single trophy.
The largest World Cup yet
This year’s tournament is the most expansive the competition has staged, gathering 48 teams and 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than six million supporters have filled the stadiums, with billions more following from beyond them, making it the most-attended edition to date.
The final is played on 19 July at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the trophy will be presented in the trunk made to hold it. When the last whistle sounds and the prize is raised, it will have completed its journey in the only case the moment could have called for.
