McLaren Automotive, the esteemed luxury supercar manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Matt Walton as Chief Manufacturing Officer, effective immediately.
In his new role, Walton will oversee the production of all McLaren supercars, meticulously crafted at the McLaren Production Centre. He will also manage operations at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre in Sheffield, UK.
Collaborating closely with the senior leadership team, Walton will focus on ensuring exceptional launch delivery and maintaining consistent performance aligned with McLaren’s business objectives. His primary goal is to lead the transformation of McLaren’s manufacturing operations to support quality, efficiency, and profitability targets.

Walton joined McLaren in November 2019 as Senior Supplier Quality Manager and quickly advanced to Head of Supplier Quality and later, Director. By the end of 2023, he took on the role of Launch Director, where he was responsible for Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Launch.
Walton holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a PhD in Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Automation.
