James Bond has worn an OMEGA Seamaster in every film since 1995, now OMEGA has taken the Seamaster that features in the new video game 007 First Light and turned it into a real timepiece, the first chronograph the Diver 300M has ever worn under the Bond name. OMEGA and James Bond have been inseparable for thirty years. Its newest Seamaster began life inside a video game, where the watch hacks systems and fires lasers on the way to earning 007 status. OMEGA has now built that fictional piece for real, complete with the first chronograph the Diver 300M has ever worn under the Bond banner, handing fans a way to wear exactly what 007 straps on during his missions.

The watch in question is the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light, created alongside game studio IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios. It carries a small but significant honour, since this is the first chronograph the Diver 300M has ever worn across its Bond history.

A first for the Diver

The watch is made from polished stainless steel and measures a confident 44 mm. The bezel ring is smooth black ceramic with a crisp white diving scale, and the two pushers are cut from the same deep black ceramic.

The dial is black ceramic too, finished with the clean wave pattern the Seamaster is known for. At 3 o’clock there is a small ring in warm bronze gold, the same rich colour used for the central chronograph hand that sweeps round the dial. The rest of the hands and markers are bright, polished silver that glow in the dark thanks to Super-LumiNova, the Seamaster name appears in bold red, and there is a tidy date window at 6 o’clock.

The watch comes on a striped fabric strap pulled straight from the game, in a smart mix of black, grey and beige. It is a nod to the sleek strap Bond wore in No Time to Die, though the pattern has been redrawn and given its own Seamaster buckle, with 007 and First Light wording stamped on the loops that hold it in place.

If one strap is never enough, six more fabric straps are sold separately. Each one copies a different strap that players can find and wear in the game, so the looks on screen carry across to the real thing.

Inside, the watch runs on OMEGA’s smooth Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900, which winds itself as you wear it and is built to keep excellent time even near magnets and phones. A small seconds dial sits at 9 o’clock, and the neat timer that counts up to 60 minutes and 12 hours sits at 3 o’clock.

Flip the watch over and the movement is on full show through a clear sapphire back, with a hidden 007 First Light logo printed on the underside of the glass. Every watch arrives in a sleek presentation box shaped like the suitcase that carries the OMEGA watches in the game. Since 1995, Bond has worn an OMEGA Seamaster in every film, and this release keeps that run going while taking it somewhere new.ps that streak alive while nudging it somewhere genuinely new.
