The Hari Singapore Announces it’s Debut For 2027

Spring 2027 will see The Hari arrive in Singapore, joining sister hotels in Belgravia and Wan Chai. Harilela Hotels is reworking the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into a 326-bedroom property with a rooftop pool, an executive lounge, dining and wellness spaces, and the rotating artwork that has become a signature. British designer Tara Bernerd takes on her third commission for the brand, and founder Dr Aron Harilela calls the city central to what comes next

Harilela Hotels has confirmed Singapore as the third city for The Hari, with a spring 2027 opening that follows the group’s hotels in London and Hong Kong. The announcement sets out the conversion of the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into a 326-bedroom luxury property. It will be the brand’s first address in Southeast Asia.

Nine years separate the first opening from the third, and the family-owned group has treated each city on its own terms, creating a small collection where the hotels share a temperament, each in their own way. The Hari London opened in August 2016, followed by The Hari Hong Kong in December 2020. Both sit in districts that reward wandering, and Orchard Road continues the thought, running through the heart of Singapore’s shopping and hotel quarter with the city’s greenery never far off.

“This hotel, like our sister properties in Belgravia and Wan Chai, will embody relaxed elegance punctuated by eccentricity, wit, culture and genuine heartfelt hospitality. Singapore is key to our ambition to evolve The Hari in major international destinations.”

Art, Design & Amenities

British designer Tara Bernerd shaped the interiors of both existing hotels and returns to lead the work here. Her approach pairs contemporary elegance with a strong sense of place, building rooms in layers so they feel considered and easy to settle into.

For Singapore, the brief draws on the energy and cultural character of the city. Expect interiors that nod to their surroundings with a light hand, an approach that has already worked in two neighbourhoods with very little in common.

Above the 326 bedrooms sits a rooftop pool, with an executive lounge and a programme of dining and wellness spaces to follow. Outdoor space is scarce along this stretch of the city, which makes a rooftop with a view a real pleasure.

Art remains one of the brand’s more charming habits. A revolving rota of works moves through the public areas, so the lobby shifts over time and repeat guests are rarely greeted by the same thing twice.

A family business since 1959

The Harilela Group was established in 1959 and remains wholly owned by the Harilela family. It is the parent company of Harilela Hotels, which owns 15 properties across Hong Kong, China, Asia, Europe and the United States.

The Hari sits at the luxury end of that portfolio, and the family’s approach to hospitality runs through every one of its hotels. Singapore is the point at which the brand stops being a pair of flagships and becomes something closer to a proper collection.
