The culinary world continues to surprise with remarkable new openings that capture the imagination. From a Mauritian resort’s authentic Indian restaurant helmed by a passionate chef from Agra, to a Parisian hotel’s enchanting cocktail theatre inspired by Arabian nights, and London’s vibrant new Asian brunch concept, these venues offer compelling reasons to adjust travel plans.

Three exceptional dining experiences are poised to reshape the culinary map across Mauritius, Paris, and London. Each venue brings its own distinctive personality while delivering something genuinely fresh to the table.

Rangoli: A Journey Through India in the Heart of Mauritius

Opening this October at Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, Rangoli promises a rare Mauritian experience: authentic Indian cuisine crafted with passion. Chef Rajiv Dhama arrives from Agra with a distinguished pedigree at Radisson and Oberoi properties, joined by long-standing collaborators Shubham Bedwal and Shabaz Khan. Together they hold a six-year partnership which has created a remarkable culinary chemistry.

The menu takes diners on an ambitious journey through India’s diverse regions, from the subtle flavours of Bengal to the robust spices of Rajasthan and the delicate aromatics of Kashmir. The team remains steadfast in its commitment to regional authenticity. Signature dishes such as slow-cooked Rogan Josh and hand-rolled Kachoris offer a tangible taste of India’s rich gastronomic heritage.

That same authenticity shapes every detail of the experience. Staff in elegant traditional attire welcome guests onto a sunlit terrace or into richly appointed dining rooms alive with lush floral displays. Artisanal tableware and carefully chosen furnishings echo India’s artistic heritage, blending timeless tradition with modern sophistication. Framed by the dramatic silhouette of Le Morne Brabant mountain, Rangoli is set to become one of Mauritius’ most memorable gastronomic destinations.

Le Grand Mazarin: Where Cocktails Tell Stories

Paris’ Le Grand Mazarin has long been a discreet Marais hideaway, but this September, its bar and restaurant, Boubale, will debut a premium cocktail collection designed to turn the space into a stage for storytelling. Inspired by ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, each cocktail is designed as a story in itself, combining exceptional mixology with a touch of dramatic presentation.

This debut marks only the first chapter in an ambitious, multi-volume series that will evolve with the seasons. Guests are invited to return again and again to encounter new stories, unexpected flavour pairings, and theatrical elements that reimagine the ritual of cocktail drinking. In doing so, the bar positions itself as a destination in its own right, rather than a brief stop along the evening’s journey.

Below, Le Petit Bazar extends the atmosphere late into the night. The intimate basement space comes alive Thursday through Saturday with curated DJ sessions until 2am. Moody lighting, finely tuned playlists, and an energetic crowd infuse the venue with an electric pulse, creating a complete Parisian evening that rivals the city’s nightlife.

UBA: Bold Asian Flavours for Weekend Brunch

East London’s dining scene gains fresh energy with UBA’s new weekend brunch, served every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm. Sidestepping predictable brunch clichés, the concept reimagines weekend dining through the lens of vibrant Asian street food. Dishes such as Yuzu Sesame Edamame and Korean Crispy Fried Chicken bring bold, uplifting flavours that awaken the palate without overwhelming it.

The menu strikes a thoughtful balance between shareable small plates and satisfying mains. Stir-Fry Egg Noodles arrive with a choice of protein, while nourishing Donburi bowls pair rice, crisp vegetables, house pickles, and perfectly prepared onsen eggs. Each dish honours authentic street food traditions while refining them to a standard that feels perfectly suited to the leisurely weekend table.

UBA’s interior channels the creative pulse of East London, blending bold Asian-inspired accents, vivid murals, and sculptural lighting with plush, inviting furnishings. Open kitchen views and lively communal tables echo the dynamism of street food culture, transforming the restaurant into a modern space where energy and flavour converge.
