Unveiling its largest yacht to date, the flagship Heesen COSMOS is sure to wow onlookers as the Dutch company celebrated its 40th birthday earlier this year.

The massive 80m Project COSMOS weights 500 gross tonnes more than the Heesen yacht GALACTICA SUPER NOVA, and the four beastly MTU 20 V 4000 engines will produce a combined 19,000 horsepower at 3,450kW each.

The MTU engines allow the yacht to travel at pace: with the engines driving two controllable pitch propellers, the two engines are linked to one gearbox and each pair is used to power one shaft; allowing the yacht to reach 30 knots.

On board, the COSMOS features a 270-square metre Sun Deck and an expansive foredeck that transforms from a helicopter landing pad to a cutting-edge outdoor cinema.

The stunning interior space is designed by award-winning Dutch design studio Sinot, which hosts glass and natural light ceiling heights which create a sense of balance and clean aesthetic. These details are offset with the use of backlit onyx, crystal glass panels and straw marquetry.

One of the focal points includes a stunning spiral staircase with stainless-steel detailing. The stairs wrap around a full glass elevator then pour onto a spacious foyer on the main deck. This creates a grand entrance to the boat.

The yacht will accommodate 12 guests in four guest suites on the lower deck, and a VIP with an adjacent private studio on the bridge deck. The striking master stateroom will be on the main deck forward.

Up to 19 crew in eleven cabins will be able to discretely service the guests.

Heesen has stated that Project Cosmos will be the world’s largest and fastest all-aluminium motor yacht with conventional propulsion, and is due for delivery in April 2022.
