Maserati has once again captured the spotlight in the automotive world with the global debut of its latest masterpiece, the GT2 Stradale. The new super sports car was unveiled at the highly anticipated 2024 Monterey Car Week, one of the most prestigious automotive events held in California. The car’s grand introduction took place on Friday, August 16, during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering—a key highlight of the event that attracts enthusiasts and connoisseurs from around the world.

The GT2 Stradale represents a significant evolution for Maserati, blending the brand’s storied racing heritage with its iconic design principles. It is the product of a meticulous partnership between the Maserati GT2, a high-performance model engineered for the brand’s return to GT racing, and the MC20, a model that has become synonymous with Maserati’s signature style and performance. The result is a vehicle that marries the best of both worlds, offering unparalleled performance on the road while maintaining the luxurious driving experience that Maserati is known for.

Boasting a top speed exceeding 320 km/h, the GT2 Stradale delivers an enhanced output of 640 horsepower, an increase of 10 horsepower over the MC20. This power boost, combined with a weight reduction of 60 kg and a blistering 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.8 seconds, positions the GT2 Stradale as a leader in its class. The car’s advanced aerodynamics and striking design, inherited from its racing sibling, contribute to its superior performance, ensuring that drivers experience the thrill of a track car in everyday driving conditions.

A significant feature of the GT2 Stradale is its extensive customisation options. Maserati offers a variety of packages aimed at enhancing performance, aesthetic appeal, and exclusivity. The Fuoriserie program allows customers to personalise their vehicles with bespoke configurations, catering to the most discerning tastes. These offerings underscore Maserati’s commitment to providing a tailored driving experience that aligns with the brand’s legacy of luxury and performance.

“The Maserati GT2 Stradale is a unique product, bringing together the brand’s greatest sporting heritage, while representing the evolution of one of Maserati’s most iconic vehicles, the MC20 halo car. This model, intended for everyday driving, was created to offer our customers more in terms of technical mastery, innovation, design, and emotions in road driving. On one hand, we find sophisticated solutions reserved for models designed for track use only, the epitome of Maserati’s racing DNA; on the other, we can guarantee optimal comfort paired with all the most advanced driver assistance systems.”

Davide Grasso – CEO, Maserati

The GT2 Stradale was not the only Maserati model to make waves at Monterey Car Week. Two other exceptional Trident vehicles shared the stage: the MC20 Icona, making its North American debut, and the MCXtrema, which appeared at Laguna Seca as the first model was delivered to its new owner.

The MC20 Icona, unveiled earlier this year in June, celebrates the 20th anniversary of Maserati’s triumphant return to GT racing. The model is a special series, limited to just 20 units, and is distinguished by its Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale livery. This vehicle pays homage to the 2004 MC12 Stradale, a beloved Maserati that showcased the brand’s prowess in competitive racing. The MC20 Icona is a modern interpretation of this legacy, embodying the spirit of Maserati’s racing history with a contemporary twist.

Meanwhile, the MCXtrema, which debuted in 2023, returned to Monterey Car Week to mark the delivery of the first of only 62 models produced worldwide. This track-only super sports car, boasting 730 horsepower, has been designed for a select clientele who demand nothing short of excellence in performance and technical innovation. The MCXtrema stands as Maserati’s most powerful track car to date, and it is poised to set the standard for the brand’s future endeavours, reinforcing Maserati’s commitment to its racing roots.

Monterey Car Week 2024 has been an extraordinary showcase for Maserati, highlighting its continued dedication to innovation, performance, and luxury. The introduction of the GT2 Stradale, along with the appearances of the MC20 Icona and MCXtrema, has reaffirmed Maserati’s position as a leader in the world of high-performance luxury vehicles, promising an exciting future for the brand and its enthusiasts.
