The limited edition measures 38 mm and is made entirely in white ceramic, from the case through to the integrated bracelet. There is no steel or gold trim to break things up, just one clean, bright material from end to end. Ceramic is not a forgiving material to work, which makes the level of finishing all the more impressive.
Every surface is finished by hand, with satin-brushed areas alternating with polished chamfers. The brushed faces have a soft, silky sheen, while the chamfered edges catch the light and sharpen the outline. Together they pick out the Royal Oak’s famous angles, from the octagonal bezel to the tapering bracelet links.
The 38 mm diameter keeps the chronograph compact on the wrist. It brings the sporty character of the collection’s chronographs into a size that slips easily beneath a shirt cuff, while the ceramic keeps its crisp white finish with every wear.
Pink pearl
The dial is pink-tinted mother-of-pearl, chosen to symbolise feminine energy, intuition and inner strength. As a natural material, mother-of-pearl changes character as the light shifts, so no two glances at the wrist look quite the same.
Set against the crisp white ceramic, the soft iridescence adds depth and nuance. Under bright sunlight it shimmers, while indoors the pink settles into a gentler glow. The combination balances a robust build with a more delicate finish, neatly mirroring the brief Williams set out.

Under the hood
Beneath the dial sits Calibre 6401, developed entirely in-house. This new-generation movement is an integrated chronograph, meaning the timing function is built into the heart of the calibre rather than bolted on as a separate module. It continues the maison’s long tradition of sport complications, with precision, ergonomics and long-term performance as its guiding priorities.
The headline feature is a patented vertical-clutch system, which the watchmaker has simplified to use fewer parts. A vertical clutch engages the chronograph smoothly, so the seconds hand sets off cleanly the moment the pusher is pressed. The simplified design delivers smoother activation and greater reliability, and anyone who has wrestled with a stiff, juddering pusher will appreciate the difference.
The layout has also been rethought for legibility, with the hour counter at 3 o’clock and the minute counter at 9 o’clock. This symmetrical arrangement gives the dial a balanced look and makes elapsed time quick to read at a glance. An instant-jump date sits between 4 and 5 o’clock, snapping over to the next day at midnight.
The sapphire caseback reveals the movement’s refined Haute Horlogerie decoration and a 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight. That rotor swings with every movement of the wrist to keep the watch wound, and its warm tone ties back neatly to the dial on the other side.
The caseback sits within a titanium frame engraved with the words “Limited Edition”. It is a view reserved for the wearer, and flipping the watch over at the end of a long day offers a small, satisfying reward.
Sporting roots
The Royal Oak first gained a chronograph in 1997, when the collection marked its 25th anniversary with reference 25860. That watch paired the original model’s avant-garde design with the sophistication of a new movement, Calibre 2385.
Measuring just 5.5 mm thick, Calibre 2385 was one of the thinnest selfwinding chronographs ever created. The chronograph has always belonged to sport, where performance, timing and control decide the outcome. That makes it a natural choice for an athlete of Williams’ calibre.
