Portugal’s Quinta do Lago is introducing its first HYROX Fitness Retreat, a four-day experience that blends high-intensity training with restorative luxury. From 13th–17th October, participants will push their limits at The Campus before unwinding at the stylish Magnolia Hotel. This retreat reimagines fitness travel, pairing structured, results-driven sessions with the Algarve’s natural beauty and the resort’s refined comforts.

The Algarve has long drawn visitors with its sun-drenched beaches and scenic landscapes. Now, Quinta do Lago is inviting fitness enthusiasts to explore the region in a new way through a programme designed for those who crave challenge as much as comfort. At the heart of it all is The Campus, a multi-sports facility celebrated across Europe for its professional-grade setup. Here, HYROX training meets expert guidance, state-of-the-art equipment, and the resort’s signature attention to detail, creating an environment where intensity and indulgence coexist.

Professional-Grade Training Experience

The Campus serves as the retreat’s primary training venue, equipped with state-of-the-art gym facilities designed for functional movement and high-intensity training. Sessions follow HYROX methodologies, blending strength, endurance, and functional conditioning in a structured programme led by expert coaches.

Technique workshops and progressive intensity ensure participants maximise results while maintaining proper form. Nutritionally balanced lunches are provided to sustain energy throughout the day.

Daily sessions are complemented by nutritional support, with healthy lunch options provided to fuel training demands. The structured approach ensures participants can maintain energy levels whilst adapting to the programme’s physical requirements.

Recovery and Restorative Rituals

Recovery is a core element of the retreat experience. The Campus features a dedicated Recovery Suite where participants can personalise their post-workout routine with hot and cold plunge pools, sauna, and steam rooms, all of which are designed according to sports science principles to optimise muscle repair and reduce inflammation.

Yoga classes offer an alternative recovery method, focusing on mobility and flexibility work that complements the high-intensity training components. The sessions take place in purpose-built studios with views across the resort’s natural surroundings.

The Magnolia Hotel Experience

The Magnolia Hotel provides accommodation throughout the retreat period, featuring newly developed cottage-style rooms that offer privacy whilst maintaining proximity to training facilities. Daily transfers to The Campus ensure convenient access without requiring personal transportation arrangements.

The hotel’s heated outdoor pool provides additional recovery options, particularly valuable during the October period when outdoor temperatures remain comfortable for water-based activities. The cottage accommodation suits both individual participants and small groups, with flexible arrangements available based on specific requirements.

Quinta do Lago’s location within the Ria Formosa Natural Park offers participants access to additional activities beyond the structured training programme. Cycling routes through the protected landscape provide active recovery options, whilst the resort’s lake facilities enable water-based activities. The property maintains its own farm, supplying ingredients for the resort’s restaurants and ensuring food quality standards.
