The Macallan has collaborated with world-class engineers and artisans to create containers that fuse cutting-edge design with ancient craftsmanship. The oak sculpture that supports the vessels is crafted from alternating layers of American and European oak, a nod to The Macallan’s dedication to sherry-seasoned oak casks, the cornerstone of its whisky maturation process.
Each vessel of TIME : SPACE is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, embodying The Macallan’s vision of time travel through whisky mastery. The outer chamber of the dual vessel holds the 1940 vintage, representing the distillery’s storied past. This whisky was aged in two carefully chosen casks—a first American Oak Butt and a second-fill European Oak Butt—both seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, and left to mature in the serene natural surroundings of Speyside, Scotland.
Limited to just 200 units, the TIME : SPACE Collection is a rarity, with each bottle representing a year of The Macallan’s storied history.
